Research Supervision / Teaching

Projects I Supervise

I’m currently co-supervisor on a few projects. One of which is based on the transformative potential of digital storytelling and another on community media in the developing world.

My students have successfully completed projects on topics as diverse as new media in retirement villages in Australia and the notion of place in master planned communities in Brisbane. Oh, and others I have supervised include  an ongoing doctoral project to do with digital storytelling for LGBTIQ individuals within a hostile environment and, another on digital community radio in South Asia.

I am currently a Lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. If you are thinking about taking up a postgraduate degree and on the lookout for a supervisor on projects to do with any of my research areas, you can contact me via email or leave a comment on this blog.

I'm a research fellow at an Australian university where I work on a number of projects. These include projects to do with new media and migration and the Chinese diaspora in Australia, projects on the Malaysian internet, ethno-religious issues in Singapore and Malaysia. And, before I forget many of the photos I use on this site were taken by my sister, Jessie and myself. All rights are reserved.
